Burgers & Dogs, Gourmet Style

I will admit that one of my favorite passed appetizers at a wedding are pigs n' blanket.  I choose to ignore what is in them, and just enjoy the delicious nature of these fantastic little treats.  I think there are so many ways to incorporate not so fancy foods, into a fancy day.  I love this idea, with passed mini burgers and dogs, with milkshakes and fries.  The combination of comfort food, paired with style and presentation is fabulous!  Not to mention that I bet the food tasted damn good!

Bonnet Island Estate

I have seen quite a few photos from weddings that have taken place at Bonnet Island Estate, and I think that it is just a breathtaking place to get married.  It is located in New Jersey, and seriously makes for one gorgeous wedding day back drop.  A few shots from the most recent wedding I stumbled upon, that took place there...

I love that the boathouse serves ats the chapel, so cute!

That's a Wrap

With the countdown to our wedding nearing the one month marker, I am still toying with several ideas for gifts for my bridesmaids.  I happened upon Nordstrom's website, and saw these beautiful tissue weight cashmere wraps and thought they could be a super cute option.

 

Shown here in "Stunning Blue," they come in a variety of colors to match anyone's bridesmaid dress color.  I like them too because they work not only for the wedding, giving your girls something to put over their shoulders if it gets chilly, but also they are a great addition to anyone's wardrobe, so you know they can get plenty of use out of them.

Inexpensive Table Design

The wonderful photographer Julie Mikos found herself on the other side of the lens earlier this summer, as she got married.  After holding a private ceremony, she and her husband later had a party with family and friends to celebrate.  It was at this party that she was able to put together beautiful tables, with the runners and centerpieces costing her under $200!

 

 

 

I love the simplicity and the pop of color coming from the orange runners.  Awesome!

Filling the Welcome Bags

This is a fantastic idea from Classic Bride for a super cute addition to any welcome bag or basket.

   

You could fill the bags with any kind of candy, maybe personalized as a favorite of yours and your grooms.  And the tags look great, I can totally see these sitting front in center in a welcome arrangement.

Melt in Your Mouth Kind of Good

I had the pure joy of growing up with a mom, who hails from Fresno, CA.  Why is this important, you make ask?  Because it is California where the most delicious and mouth watering chocolate comes from, See's Candy.  My mom was introduced to it as a little girl, and in turn introduced it to my sister and I as little girls.  It was a special treat, only to be had around Christmas, when my grandma, her mother, would send our family a box of the assorted chocolates.   We would stare at the box, and still do, wondering which one to have first, and how to stop at just one!   You haven't had chocolate until you have tried See's ; I have never found even a close second.

What I love about See's  is that you can tailor make your order online, ordering only your favorites, or perhaps trying something new.  This idea would translate perfectly into a wedding favor, served in cute boxes that match your decor, with each guest getting a piece or two. 

Brilliant!  And trust me, your guests will thank you!

Rustic & Charming

Good friends of ours recently got engaged and are talking about the possibility of having a wedding this time next year, at camp grounds in Northern New Jersey.  I love that this idea presents so many options, and different ways to go with design and feel of the day.  I found this wedding, on Brides, and was instantly inspired for them.  I love the simplicity and tone.  It is intimate and romantic; simply decorated, which translated into a beautiful event.

A Beautiful Altar

I am completely smitten with this gorgeous altar decoration from a wedding that recently took place in Brooklyn Navy Yard.

 

 

I just think the hanging candles, and individual orchids are so delicate and romantic.  And paired with the time of day, just as the sun is setting, created a beautiful atmosphere.

Wishing on a Star

I have been a long time lover of her work, and am psyched to be featuring a wedding that she just shot over the Labor Day weekend.  Jasmine Star is such an amazing talent, and the images that she captured here are proof positive of that.  I like the style of this wedding, elegant, with a touch of casual, and great attention to detail.  They just seem so happy and in love, two components that will make any wedding stand out!

Whether it be when a bride starts walking down the aisle, or before the ceremony when the couple sees each other for the first time, I love the reaction shots.

  

   

Awesome details!  I like how it was all kept white. 

 

I so wish that every wedding could have a photobooth, they have "fun" written all over them!

Sweet Paper.. Literally!

I am digging this find on Etsy, a very cool shop called Sweet Papery, that specializes in custom stamps and labels for any and all uses!  On the wedding front, I am particularly fond of the personalized monogrammed stickers, which can be used for dressing up any normal box, or bag, used to hold your favors.

    

 

I also love their wide array of individualized rubber stamps, which are a super cute alternative to your garden variety return address labels.  These will definitely come in handy for the extreme amount of thank you note writing that follows any wedding!
