It's Here!

It is hard to believe that we are leaving Philadelphia tomorrow morning to fly to Amelia Island, FL for our wedding!  Saturday is the big day, but we are headed down early to finish preparing, as well as relax and enjoy with family and friends.  I had planned to be organized and together enough to have posts prepared for my time away.  But, alas, reality snuck up on me and I didn't get a chance to do it.  So, I sign off for now, but will be back in a couple of week's time, with lots of fun details and plenty of pictures!!

No Traditional Flowers

I think this green and white flower combination that Katie, of Inspired Floral Design, put together  is just lovely.  The bride requested that no traditional flowers be used, ie - roses, calla lilies, etc., and also asked that she incorporate small textural elements.  The  bouquets and boutonnieres that transpired are fantastic.

We Won the Pennant!

For only the sixth time in team history, the Philadelphia Phillies won the National League Championship series to advance to the World Series.  And for only the first time in my history, I am marrying their biggest fan, at the same time.  It is official.  9 days from now, I will be having a world series wedding.  I have spent the last year joking about the possibility of this, never imagining that it could actually happen.  Needless to say, there is no option other than winning the whole damn thing!!!

Thank You, Thank You

With the wedding being so close, just 10 days away, we have started to receive wedding presents.  Of course, with the presents, come the thank you notes.  I had originally thought that I would have cards printed that match our invitation suite.  However, I stumbled upon this idea from Martha Stewart, and really like it. 

 

Choose a picture from your wedding photos, or better yet, pose for one specifically and create note cards with the picture as the cover of the card.  It is definitely a fun way to get creative with your spouse and your photographer, and will give you fun and unique thank you cards!

Personalization

12 days and counting!  I can't believe that it is coming up so soon!  While, the majority of things are done, there is still all of the last minute details that remain, which have me in a bit of a tizzy.  But, that is to be expected, right?  One thing that I am no longer worried about is whether are personalized matches and cocktail napkins will arrive on time.  They were originally scheduled to arrive in the middle of this week, but as luck would have it, came early and arrived on our doorstep last Thursday.  They are so super cute, I'm very excited!  I got them both from For Your Party, a site for pretty much personalized everything. 

 

Once you have decided what you want to create, the site will walk you through the process from the blank slate to the finished product.  I really liked that it would update as you changed the font or color, so you could see what you were creating, as you went along.   Super easy, and definitely super fun!

It's All About Having Fun

This couple hit the nail on the head.  All the hours spent planning, finalizing each individual detail, in hopes of absolute perfection will matter nothing, if you don't take a step back and enjoy yourself and your own wedding.  It's your party, enjoy it!  Celebrate!  Scoff at tradition and party like a rock star!

Falling in Love with Fall Flowers

Mmm.  The colors of the fall flowers that Brides highlighted are just delicious.  They are so bright, and vibrant, and I am digging the various combinations.  You could definitely center some amazing design around these palettes.

Lots of Lovely Lanterns

It's 17 days away, and I have been good.  I haven't looked at the weather, not even once.  I am doing the best I can to not think about it, refer to Monday's post, details that are out of my control.  However, I would really like for the weather to be perfect, since both the ceremony and reception are outside, un-covered.  Ever since we decided on the destination wedding, and found the The Ribault Club , I have been planning a perfect night under the stars.  I love, love, love the idea of the night being lit by paper lanterns and candles.  Much like this gorgeous wedding, photographed by Marie Labbancz.

  

So pretty!  And yes, I am a rational person, and know that the day will be perfect regardless of the weather.  But, a girl can dream, right?!

Lovely, Long Tables

I just love this table design.  Not only am I a fan of the long banquet table, but I really like the use of single flowers in each vase.  And, in this particular table, I just love the vibrant color reds against the black and white.  Beauitful!
