I like posting real weddings because I think it is one of the best places to gain inspiration. However, nothing gives me more pleasure than to continue a post from a couple months ago, with the wedding details of my close friend's MaryBeth & Otis. They tied the knot back on May 30th, at Bartram's Garden, a gorgeous venue here in Philly. The wedding was captured by the fabulous ladies of Studio Nouveau, and here is a peak into their big day...
After a little inspiration from Bird and Banner, MB hand crafted the wedding invites herself, and the rehearsal invites came from Wedding Paper Divas.
I adore this picture of her bouquet.
Otis looked dashing in his J.Crew blazer, and Chuck Taylors.
They opted to see each other before the ceremony, which allowed for them to arrive together in a London cab. Very cool!
I think the ring bearer is a photog in the making!
You always want the best for your friends. And when I see one of my best friends this happy to be walking down the aisle to Otis, it just makes me all warm and fuzzy. I also love that she walked down the aisle to "All You Need is Love," which was the same song playing when Otis proposed.
There ceremony was great, and so natural to who they are as a couple. Harvey, better known as the voice from DoubleDare, did a wonderful job as the officiant, where he included a coin toss to decide who would say their vows first. It was quite comical, and enjoyed by all.
In lieu of a traditional guest book, guests were invited to fill out a card and hang it on the wishing tree, which MB plans to put into a scrapbook later on. It is a super cute idea, and relatively pain free on the DIY scale, which I can personally attest to since I helped tie the knots on the strings. Plus, it looked great sitting on the table as the floating notes grew in numbers.
I love this shot!
The reception decor was beautiful. Under a big white tent, long tables were lined with burlap, that was cut by MB as another DIY project to help keep costs down. Christine, from A Modern Touch, did an amazing job with the flowers, alternating tables with orange and yellow flowers, in various sized mason jars.
My favorite part of the night was when MB & Otis surprised the crowd by singing "All Night Long," by Junior Kimbrough. It rocked!
Their wedding was easily one of the best that I have been to, and I think it is because their day reflected their personality as a couple, so perfectly. MB and I were the first the people each other met when we started at Indiana University, and to be a part of her wedding day, eleven years later, means the world to me. I couldn't be happier for her and Otis!
I want to say a very big thank you to Lara and Kate, of Studio Nouveau, who shared these pictures with me. These are just a few of the amazing pictures they captured at both the wedding and the rehearsal dinner. They have some serious talent!
And don't forget to check out MB's blog for the how-to's on all of her wedding day craftiness!
