I have come to the conclusion that it is a near impossibility to go wedding dress shopping and come out saying that you found "the one." I mean, can it really happen? Budget issues aside, can a woman honestly walk into a store, with so many beautiful choices, in all different shapes and sizes, and say with a hundred percent confidence that a single dress is the only dress you would want to wear on your wedding day? I look at my own wedding dress, which I love, but can tell you wouldn't be the dress I would wear if my wedding wasn't going to be outside in Florida. If we were getting married here in Philadelphia, I could see myself in something along these lines...
An absolutely gorgeous gown, but one that would be more fitting of a downtown wedding, rather than outside under a tree. Maybe it is just my love of weddings, and my appreciation for so many different ways of doing things, that makes me question the notion. Wedding dress shopping should be fun, and not so pressure filled on whether you are finding the only dress that you would want to wear on your wedding day. Perhaps, we should change the idea of finding "the one," to finding "the one for right now, and if given the option, I would wear them all?" And if you really think about it, you already found "the one," they are the reason you are wedding dress shopping in the first place!
